R.I.P Brett Jackson

February 24, 2011

On the 16th February 2011 House lost another great and household name on the deep soulful house circuit by the name of Brett Jackson.

Brett Jackson lost his battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma cancer which he was diagnosed with nearly 3 years ago.

Most will know Mr Brett Jackson for his track ‘A House Is A Home’ which is stil to date one of my favourite vocal tracks ….

May his eternal soul rest in perfect peace and may his legacy live on…..

Tribe Live with Peven Everett @ Relentless Garage, London (29th January 2011)

February 21, 2011

Just before the end of 2010 it was announced that the soul vocalist and legend from Chicago who is Peven Everett would be coming to London. After the disappointment of missing him the year before I had to make sure I was 10000% attending the event.

I must applaud Zepherin Saint (Tribe Records) for warming up the show nicely with some Deep & Soulful House. This is where I heard ReelSoul’s remix of Mary J Blige’s classic ‘ I Can Love You’ for the first time and WHAT a rework it is, absolutely amazing!
I also have to salute Zepherin Saint on playing ‘Kem – Heaven (Marlon D & G.A Club Mix) on the night  because they response for this tune words cannot describe.

Inside the event I spotted Teaser DJ, DJ Kismet, Nat Wendell and A Plus DJ all ready to live life!

Peven Everett himself graced the stage not long after 1AM and what an entrance he made …

This is my first time hearing Mr Everett live but MY can I say that he is a SERIOUS entertainer and he’s energy is something special. He’s set with a FULL live band lasted just under 2 hours with even enough space for an encore! Definitely a must see and hear for the house connoisseurs

This is a video of Mr Everett performing ‘Heat Up’ live from the concert…ENJOY!
